Nous avons donc contourn\u00e9 Washington DC pour nous rendre au Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary. Cette r\u00e9serve naturelle est situ\u00e9e sur la rive gauche de la Patuxent River et est suffisamment proche de l&#8217;embouchure pour ressentir l&rsquo;influence des mar\u00e9es et pour que l&rsquo;eau soit l\u00e9g\u00e8rement sal\u00e9e. \u00c0 cet endroit, la rivi\u00e8re s&rsquo;\u00e9largit et abrite des marais dans ses m\u00e9andres peu profonds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En amont, la Patuxent River contourne Washington DC par le Nord et passe \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 du <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/helene.lecairn.org\/index.php\/2020\/11\/16\/aug-2-patuxent-research-refuge\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/helene.lecairn.org\/index.php\/2020\/11\/16\/aug-2-patuxent-research-refuge\/\" target=\"_blank\">Patuxent Research Refuge<\/a> o\u00f9 je m&rsquo;\u00e9tais rendue balade se prolonge par un chemin qui s&rsquo;avance \u00e0 travers les marais et permet d&rsquo;acc\u00e9der \u00e0 des plates-formes d&rsquo;observation plus proches du fleuve. Il est presque midi, ce n&rsquo;est donc pas forc\u00e9ment le meilleur moment de la journ\u00e9e pour observer la faune et notamment les oiseaux. continuons notre chemin davantage dans la for\u00eat jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Otter Point. Il fait beau, le soleil chauffe bien lorsque nous ne sommes pas \u00e0 l&rsquo;ombre relative des arbres qui n&rsquo;ont pas encore de feuilles. Dans les bras peu profonds de la rivi\u00e8re, de nombreux troncs ou branches d&rsquo;arbre sont partiellement submerg\u00e9es, ce qui fait la joie des tortues!
